Funny how I just saw this. Last night my father had a power surge protector short out in a room that no one had been in for weeks. It caused a lot of smoke. Luckily there were no flames. My father hit it with an extinguisher. Fire dept arrived and cleared everything. The worst thing is that my parents run oxygen generators in their house for medical conditions. This could have been devastating. Had there been actual OPEN FLAME it could have caused an explosive situation. Something for people ti think about.
